Wiltshire College has a £500,000 purpose-built motorsport facility based at Castle Combe racetrack. We offer courses to students in motor sport engineering and technology in a real-world environment. The Castle Combe centre is the first circuit-based motor sport engineering centre in the UK.
The 6,500 square-foot centre includes two classrooms, six car workshops and an engine and a machine workshop.
The facility is used by Wiltshire College for its students on the National Diploma in Motor Sport Engineering and Technology courses. Currently, over 100 students are be involved in the courses.
Such has been the success of the facility, that future expansion is planned to accommodate even more students.
The centre was opened in July 2006 at a ceremony at which North Wiltshire MP James Gray laid a foundation stone.
The Chairman of the Castle Combe circuit, Howard Strawford said at the time of opening, "This is probably the biggest single investment the circuit has made in its 56 year history.
